CLUB NEWS

Congratulations on another great Meet
Congratulations to everyone who was a part of our carnival on Saturday night. As arguably the biggest event on our annual calendar it was great to see it go off with out a hitch.
Thank you to everyone who helped in the both the lead up to and on the actual night. There are far too many to name individually but I would be remiss to not mention the following standouts:

- Kylie's colour commentary on the night. The highlight being when she called the ladies' attention to the good looking guys in the final heat of the 50 Fly. While I'm sure he’d deny it, that ego boost almost certainly helped Neil in breaking the 29 second barrier.

- All the timekeepers including the chief timekeepers Roz and Robyn. Aside from the State competitions, our carnival is the only one on the local calendar where timekeepers from other clubs are not required. This is a great testament to the depth of spirit and willingness to volunteer within our club.

- The 20 Raffle prizes. Not only did announcing the winners help us kill time while getting the relays organised but it meant that pretty much everyone there either won a prize or got a ride home with someone who did. Great work Christina & Jen!

- The marshalling efforts of coach Kevin. After years of yelling at us on deck, he’s arguably one of the best cat herders in the country. While it wasn’t enough to get John “Sandbag” Kain to his 50 free on time, it kept the event rolling smoothly.

- The behind the scenes technical work of Pete and Brett as well as John for organizing the electronic timing. Without exception I have never seen results posted as fast as on Saturday night. In fact I’m pretty sure that somehow the 50 backstroke results were up before I even got out of the pool!

- Last but not least the superhuman organizational efforts of Louise, our Meet Director extraordinaire, and her partner in crime Jen.  Both Louise and Jen devoted hours in the lead up to and on the night ensuring that the night was the success that it was. Without their efforts the night would not have happened, let alone been the success that it was.

Thank you again to all involved!

Cheers
